Academic Language Practice Paragaph 6

I think undocumented immigrants should not be given citizenship. I think that if immigrants want to come into our country they should be verified so they could pay taxes. Immigrants that come here illegally could be criminals so to simplify the crime rate they should go through the process the right way. If they have to get out of their countries because they are in danger they should still go through the paper work sequence and that way they won't have complications with getting a job or getting a drivers license. I think this is important because some immigrants do come here illegally, and have problems getting a job or buying a house because they don't have the right paperwork. They end up getting sent back and going through all that trouble for nothing.

''Marigolds'' Lizabeth's Shoes

I chose prompt B because I have had many situations where my grandma was worrying about the bills and how she was going to pay them. She was a foster mom of six children, but when my brother, sister, and my younger brother got moved into different homes all of their checks got taken away. So my grandma had to live paycheck to paycheck and we had to compromise a lot. I started to work for people at my church by cleaning their houses or washing their cars so that I could give the money to her at the end of the month so we could have a little bit extra. At first, I was always the youngest and didn't have to do anything but when people started packing their bags and leaving I had to grow up and help my family. I still help my grandma a little bit because I moved out and that's even more of a check that she doesn't have anymore. I'm glad I'm able to help because she was always there for me when I needed something.

Marigolds moving into adulthood

I think the pressures of going into adulthood are hard because you have to learn how to be independent and manage your own life. I also feel that you have to do things all by yourself and know when to wake up, when to ea,t and when to go to sleep.Being here you always have someone there for you. Say you run out of money you can usually ask for a loan from your family and just pay them back, but if your on your own and you don't have a job yet who are you going to call. These are the types of things that people have to deal with when they leave home. I think being prepared before you leave the nest is a important thing to do.

T- chart week 5

Yes, I think vaccination should be required for all children. Children are more prone to getting diseases and illnesses because of how little they are and because their immune systems aren't fully developed. Some children are allergic to the types of shots they get, so before they go to the doctor, they should ILLUSTRATE what they are allergic to. When the children get older they can have severe health problems if they don't get the vaccinations. The POSITIVES about children getting the vaccinations is that it will help keep them healthy and keep diseases from spreading. If you ESTIMATED the amount of illnesses children get because they didn't receive treatment, that should be enough to say that children should get their vaccinations when they are little. This is why children should receive vaccinations at a very young age.

Thank you ma'm letter

Dear Ms. Luella Bates Washington Jones,

It's me Roger the kid that tried to steal your purse a while back. I know I'm probably the last person that you expected to here from six years later, but I just wanted to say thank you ma'm. After, my visit from your house I decided I wasn't going to steal anymore, and that I'm going to get my life together. I got my Suede shoes the next day . I was so happy that I finally got shoes that my toes didn't poke through out the front. I went to school and I washed my face everyday. I got out of the streets and tried to follow the rules as much as possible. I just wanted to thank you in a letter because you don't know how much I walked up to your house and tried to say it to your face. I'm much stronger now and I'm moving on to college.

Sincerely,
Roger
P.S Thank you ma'm

When the going gets tough

My life lesson that I learned the hard way was when I was sent to juvie for shop liftting from sears and I got caught. I used to think that I would never get caught. I was out with friends and we went to Jamba Juice and I spilled Smoothie all over my shirt I and thought O well I'll just get another one. So we walked over to the Sears and I put the shirt in my bag but I didn't know that they were actually watching the cameras. So I was stopped at the door and they searched my bag and I was caught up. So the police took me to the station and they let me call my grandma but they wouldn't let me go home. I had a court date they gave me sixth months in Juvenile hall. It wasn't that bad but I never want to go back. Now I know to not be that stupid because I wasted that much time I could of been with my family.

Power Outage

On thursday I was excited to go to school the next day because we were going to get out at 11:16 due to teachers duties. That day was the volleyball game so we were making signs for Rossy because she was playing in the game. All the sudden the lights started to flicker and eventually they turned off all together. I was kind of glad that we had a blackout because maybe this would be a wake call to all people that maybe you should save more energy by saving electricity. It turns out that the Cafe' has it's own generater so all of the campus jioned there and it was fun. Everybody was having fun talking to each other dancing, rap battles, and watching a movie in the lounge area. Tia even came and joined us and also announced that there was no school the next day. We eventually had to go home. The night was so dark that they had to put up a huge spotlight up so we could make our way home. When we got home we told scary stories around lit cameras. Our house parents let us bring our mattresses out in the living room and we had a sleepover. I have to say it was one of the best nights here at SPA.

prompt A My special relationship with a animal

http://www.petfinder.com/images/breeds/dog/2390.jpgMy special relationship with a animal was with my bible study teachers dog and her name was Kieko. I love that dog so much. I was 10 when I first met her she was 7 years old. She was very kind and fun to be around because she was always hyper. When I used to spend the night over Annete's house my bible study teacher, she would always jump in my bed and sleep at the bottom of my feet. When she turn 8 years old her legs started to give out and she had a hard time walking and running. Eventually the her legs got so bad that pain medicine wouldn't even help her. In the end she had to be put down and I was very sad because I didn't get know that she was put to sleep until after she was cremated. I think that dogs can become very good friends because they are always there.

Sequel to " The Most Dangerous Game"

I wake up to the sun shining through the curtains and a pain searing into my side. It was a rough night last night after battling General Zaroff. Although it I did have a good nights sleep. I have to find a way to be rescued from this awful island. I decided to get up and explore around the house and maybe get some breakfast. When I get to the kitchen I look out the window I see the bones of Zaroff strewn across the courtyard where the hounds are kept. I decide to skip breakfast It seems my stomach can only take so much. I go further down in the tower. As I get down to the bottom I am stopped by a big steal bolted door. There is a big key right next to the handle so I decide to open the the door. It takes all my strength to push the door open, this must of been a job for Ivan. Once I get the door to adjourn I peek inside and it is pitch black. I hear little whimpers from the inside. I find a switch on the wall and flip it on. Inside there are a dozen men sitting upon the floor huddling together. I introduce myself and put in that I am harmless and that I'm going to find us a way to get of this island. I lead them up to the kitchen because they all look like they are starving. Back up in Zaroff's bedroom there behind the door is a safe that I never noticed before. I bust the safe open and find a radio and a code to signal other ships to the island. Must of been another way to lure the ships in by calling for help. So I use this to my advantage. I get a hold of a ship I doesn't have a name, but I recognize the voice right a way. It is Whitney from the boat I fell off of. I tell him the story over the radio, but the radio starts to beep as if it needs batteries. I try to hurry and give him the cordinates of the island and he says he was on his way and would try to contact another ship. Although this was an frightful experience I will never want to repeat, I am glad to be on my home. I wish you a Fine sailing and hunting adventure. I just hope that you will never have to play "The Most Dangerous Game".

My favorite shoes

My favorite brand of shoes is Converse. I like this brand because I feel that it goes with every outfit that I wear. This is my opinion but I think that Vans are wore out. In case you haven't seen them, my shoes have a black rim around the border of the shoe. They are all black with a 3-D pop out stamp on the side. The original maker of the shoe is Chuck Taylor and I think he is pure genius. I was proud of myself because I recently bought a pair of Converse with my own money and I don't go a day with out cleaning and wearing my shoes. I wish I could have all the Converse in the world in every color.

The Most Dangerous Game” Plot Change Paragraph 2011

The decision that General Zaroff made that I would change would be what he chose to hunt. Didn't he ever think that maybe he was going to lose at his sick minded freak game. If I was him I would not hunt humans because they could be smarter than me and look a what happen. He’s dead. If the story went my way I would have chose to die but by an animal. The animal would be undiscovered sea creature that I would pursue and I would die a hero. In the story he got what deserved but in my story he probably would have died with dignity. I'm not saying that hunting animals is right, not at all, but I do think it's better that murdering humans as a satisfactory.
