For example, kids could use their phones to get information from the internet. This shows that they could have another resource in class. This also shows that, they wouldn't just be getting their information from outdated text books. In addition, the usage of technology in schools are getting higher by the year. This shows that kids would be getting used to using tech in school with their personal items. This also shows that, teachers wouldn't have to stress about a tech etiquette if the children are allowed to use their technology in the class room. In conclusion, cell phones are not a burden if they are embraced and used in a positive method. Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-41429320760729193332013-05-03T09:45:00.002-07:002013-05-03T09:45:10.800-07:00Academic Language Written Assessment Week 33 American students are falling behind academically compared to students in other countries. For example, European countries COMPARED to America, do not have social services to look forward to in their future if they are not able to find a job. This shows that, they have have to work hard when they are younger in order to have a chance at a good life. This also shows that students in foreign countries are far more ambitious when it comes to being excellent in their educational careers. In addition, I'm postive if you look online for DATA it would show that other countries are more pretigious in their studies. These websites show that other countries are leading the world in academics and we are on the bottom of the totom pole. Moreover, when it comes to American students, Asian countries have a higher RANGE in advanced knowledge and technology. In conclusion, America has fallen behind in academics due to the leisure life we live and all the piveleges that are handed to us.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-53772316615582043622013-04-29T20:53:00.001-07:002013-04-29T20:53:18.409-07:00JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 31 - Vandalism Parents should be held accountable for their child's damage. For example, parents should know where their children are when they let them out the house. This shows that, parents or guardians are responsible for knowing when and where their children are so that no vandalism is doable. This also shows that no damage can be done if their children are held on a tight leash. Kids would not be able to ACHIEVE doing any serious corruptions if their parents taught them how to respect others peoples property. Although, kids should take responsibility for their actions parents are more at fault depending on the age level. In conclusion, Parents should be responsible for the damage that their kids cause.
For example, it would be easy to ADMINISTER the devices to the children who have punctual issues. This shows that, the children will be afraid to ditch school because they would have to face the consequences. This also shows that, it wouldn't be much trouble to give the children in need the devices. Also, people would have the correct CONDUCT when it came to being in school on time. This shows that, the devices would motivate students to get to school on time. This also shows that, it would improve attendance for the school records if the kids are given something towards working out of the devices. In addition, the ELEMENT of surprise would be on the staffs side, because they could catch the student if they are out of line and not where they need to be. This shows that, the staff would know exactly where the students are at all times. This also shows that, the student would know that they are being watched and would make an effort to be were they need to be. For example, kids seem to INTERACT more in school when they realize that they are failing. This shows that, "D" grades serves as a warning to the student to get more on top of things. This also shows that, the kids benefit from the warning instead of just falling straight to a "F". In addition, having "D" grades would throw off people even more than school already does. Parents should not be incarcerated if they miss school conferences. For example, the parents could have more relevent priorites to worry about, such as a job to pay bills. This shows that, the parent shouldn't be punished for their absence if they had a valid reason. This also shows that, the children are fully capable of going to the meeting themselves and TRANSPORTING the information without a gaurdian present if they know that their mom or dad is not available. In addition, the parent might be the only one bringing in food and supplies into the household. This shows that, this is even more of a disadvantage when it comes to making the meetings. This also shows that, teachers should be more understanding with their expectations because not everybody has the same home situation. Parents are always SEEKING a way to provide for their children and make sure they are doing their best in school. Also, teachers and parents have other RESOURCES in order to communicate with each other. School officials do have the right to have drug sniffing dogs. For example, without these precautions people would be able to smuggle illegal drugs that much easier. This shows that, officials should be able to ACCUSE students and search them in order to protect the greater good. This also shows that, the selling and distributing would be shorten by a substantial amount. In addition, the PROCESS of the search dogs would be more beneficial and efficient before the students have chance to use the drugs. This shows that, the dogs could RESPOND before the drugs effect a school campus and spread its poison. In addition, accidents wouldn't OCCUR as much as they do now if a machine was in charge of the wheel. This also shows that, you would be able to DIFFERENTIATE information from websites and textbooks to see alternate point of views. Students would learn to acquire more technical skills when they are using the computer constantly. Dog fighting should be illegal. For example, it is inhumane and defeats the purpose of nonviolence. This shows that, animals of any kinds should be treated like any person should. This also shows that, animals have feelings just as developed as humans. In addition, animals should not be used as entertainment especially when they are being put in danger. This shows that, animals should not be anybody's source of amusement dead or alive. This also shows that, animals should not be pent against each other if they are meant to harm one another. The people who house and allow these events to occur should be put in jail, because this act is just as bad as putting your child in danger. In conclusion, people should not be allowed to be harm for profit and should be allowed to live life without corruption.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-67538666707367716992013-02-07T19:42:00.001-08:002013-02-07T19:42:15.616-08:00Academic Language Written Assessment Week 22

Felons should not be allowed to vote. For example, if a persons crime is so COMPLEX that they are considered a felon, then they should not be allowed to contribute to society with their opinions. This shows that, their crime was so terrible that they could not even be put with the normal criminals, so why should they have a say in what goes about in the country? This also shows that, their judgement in what is right and what is wrong is quite questionable even after they complete their sentence. Their opinion is IRRELEVANT to this country. For example, if you can murder someone in cold blood and go to sleep with a smile on your face then you can live with the consequences. This shows that, some peoples decision are best left alone and the responsibility should be left to the sane people. SOURCES say that even after felons have done their time that still are not all their and can't function in society as they would like to. In conclusion, Felons should not be given the responsibility or opportunity to have a say in the way the country operates. Performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids should not be allowed in sports. It is a TRADITION to have a position on a sports team based off of your own physical and mental strength. This shows that, taking synthetic drugs would not reflect any of these qualities and should not be allowed to participate if using. There was a PERIOD in time when people enjoyed using their strength to complete strenuous tasks and didn't depend on a drug that does more harm than good. This shows that, by betting on this drug it would only harm you in the future. Performance enhancers are the PRIMARY results of people having health problems after using them. The United states should help countries like Haiti and Japan recover from disaster. It would be a good thing to INVEST in helping other countries because it could benefit us in the future. The people that live in distant countries would probably forever grateful for our assistance. We should look for alternate ways to aid those who are not in our REGION. I think a SURVEY should be passed around the country to see how many people would be willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Some teenagers have not ACQUIRED enough maturity and should have some constraint until they gain enough experience and confidence on the road. Also, newbies tend to make more mistakes on the road other than the more skilled drivers and this factor CONCLUDES to more unnecessary accidents. It is part of teenage CULTURE to go out with your friends and have a good time after you get your license and that usually leads to drunk driving and hospital bills. In conclusion, teens should have some form of restrictions when they first hit the road or else unfortunate events could occur.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-38366169169684409112013-01-07T19:08:00.002-08:002013-01-07T19:08:47.906-08:00My New Years EveI had a really good New Year's Eve. I spent my night with Melissa and Montanna. We started the night off with a few pranks around campus and it was super fun. At first, we started off with ding-dong ditch then we decided to up the fun a little bit more. It was the end of the year we had to got out with a bang. We turned off some porch lights knocked on people's windows. Then we put cones that blocked the front entrance to the campus and watched as a car had to around and go the other way. It was really fun. We pigged out on appetizers that my houseparent made then headed to the dance. The dance was alright, but being with my friends made it a lot more entertaining. We danced and and just had a good time. When it was time to got home a couple fights broke out, but what can you expect from children at SPA? Melissa spent the night over our house and we watched movies then went to bed. I had better time then I expected to. I hope this year is better than last year and I'm determined to make it that way.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-68265853166592927742012-12-21T08:53:00.001-08:002012-12-21T08:53:28.694-08:00Academic language assessment week 17The benefits of importing Chinese goods do bot outweigh the consequences. For example, America could save fuel resources that it takes to IMPORT the goods into the country. This shows that, we would have more resources that we could use in our environment. The U.S would have more jobs available for Americans who need them and wouldn't have to EXPORT materials out of the country and wasting more time and money. The money we make off of the products would go back into our communities and help them FUNCTION far more better. We would literally be the most self sufficient country in the world. In conclusion. America would be better off providing for our country instead of wasting valuable resources and money in another country.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-56038102878612224172012-12-19T22:13:00.001-08:002012-12-19T22:13:42.274-08:00Jammer dinnerI had a lot of fun at the Jammer dinner. The dinner was held at the Del Mar race track on the top floor. When we walked onto the floor where it was held Jammer was there to greet us and so was our sponsors. They had appetizers and juice for us to munch on while we waited for the real food. The sponsors at my table were really nice and told us about their jobs and how they met each other. It was really sweet. When the food came I was really hungry and so were the people sitting at my table. They had this buffet of pasta and salad and that filled me up pretty fast. After we ate we were whisked downstairs to pile onto a hay ride so we could see the parade of lights. The race track was full of lights of different types of sports and snowmen. By the time the ride was over I was freezing cold and wanted to hurry inside. We got desert and hot chocolate was served on the lower level and we got to sit outside by a fire. When desert was finished we were told to go back upstairs so we could get our presents. I hurried and got on the elevator before anyone else because I was eager to get my presents. I got to my table and they told us to open our presents right away. I didn't want to ruin the wrapping paper, but after five minutes of trying to be gentle I stated to ripped the paper off by chunks. I got a girls basketball, Skull candy headphones, and a New York city poster that I really wanted. I didn't really get what I asked for but I'm still grateful that I got something, because there was twenty children that did not make it to Christmas.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-85207387920957561002012-12-18T20:53:00.002-08:002012-12-18T21:19:40.030-08:00Shooting in Connecticut

I am very sad about the shooting in Connecticut. For example, most of the people killed were five to six year old. I have two baby sisters and one is six. My sister and I never really bonded and got along. If this was to happen to her I would be despondent and I wouldn't have forgiven myself because I sort of favored my two year old sister more because I practically raised her. My sister Miracle is a bit more complicated but I still love her. Learning about the shooting only made me realized that you could lose anyone at anytime. So I'm going to make an appoint to spend some time with her and really give her a chance. I learned to appreciate my family more and to not take things for granted. I hope this would be the last of things like this tragedy. I pray for the families that didn't have a child to take home on that horrible day. I hope this is a valuable lesson for those who keep guns around a child who is mentally unstable and take them to shooting ranges.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-62471089041995486502012-12-13T12:33:00.001-08:002012-12-13T12:34:30.728-08:00Irony in "Lamb to the Slaughter"

The irony in “Lamb to the Slaughter” makes the story memorable. For example, the detectives stated, “Probably right under our noses. What do you think Jack?” when they sat down to eat the leg of lamb (p.324). This shows that, the detectives were unaware of the lamb being the weapon, but the audience knows what it was used for, which makes it dramatic irony. This also shows that, the reader is amused because they know that the weapon really is under their nose. For example, Mary yelled, “Patrick!...How are you, darling?” after she got home from the vegetable store (p.321). This shows that, she blatantly tried to act like everything was normal even though she knows he is not okay making this situation verbal irony. This also shows that, the reader is interested in how she is going to act when she finds Patrick dead. In conclusion, Mary Maloney keeps the reader guessing based on her behavior and how she handled the murder of her husband.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-67795367326602121752012-12-12T21:00:00.001-08:002012-12-12T21:00:27.484-08:00My night at TargetThe trip to Target was so much fun. I had practice right before we left so I had to rush home and take a quick shower before I was rushed out the door. The whole campus piled into the three buses that were available to us. On the way there I was thinking about what I was going to get . When we got there regular shoppers were curious of what was going on. Half of the people left within the first ten minutes we were there. When I got my paper that told what I could get and what I couldn't I was a little upset. I mean how are you going to get $200 and not spend some of it on food. I decided to head to the entertainment section and that's where everybody was. I got some movies and then I headed to the boy section because they always had the best stuff. I got a two flannel shirts, Angry bird boxers, pajamas, blanket, and slippers. I then headed to the bedroom accessories and got a new comforter and pillow case. When I was done I headed to the front of the store and was surprised. The line was wrapped three aisle's and I had to jump in line before anyone else got in front of me. I waited for about 30 minutes before I was checked out and ready to get on the bus to go home. We waited 20 minutes more for more kids to pile on with all their merchandise. We headed home and I was super tired and ready to knock out. When we came home I went straight to bed.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5077481999962968761.post-62720093080212714052012-12-10T12:34:00.001-08:002012-12-10T12:34:29.880-08:00Ambiguity paragraph

The ambiguity in “Notes in a bottle” engages the reader. For instance, a man with connections to Washington DC says, “Why haven’t we been informed?” This clearly states that the people are unaware of the cause of the natural disaster. This shows that, the reader has to come up with the idea his or herself. On the last entry the main character explains the scene in front of him is “ The water is swirling around the skylights now. The wind shifts. The waves are coming straight in from the Atlantic.” This shows that, the reader is contemplating what the outcome of the story is because it causes you to come up with a ending yourself. This also shows, the ambiguity is apparent in this last paragraph because you don’t know what really went on from that point on. In conclusion, this story attracts the reader due to unknown information.

Cell phones are not safe to use while driving. For example, Some people have a hard time ASSESSING the situation before they check their text messages putting themselves and other drivers on the road in danger. This shows that, you might think that they are capable of handling the responsibility, but you never know what's around the corner. Some people do not get the CONCEPT of constant distractions when texting or talking while driving. By past experiences in my life I can RELATE that not everybody is capable of multitasking while keeping an eye on the road. In conclusion, I truly believe that cell phones should not be in mind while trying to be safe on the road.Keonahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02458989274777547806noreply@blogger.com0
