Academic Language Written Assessment Week 22
Felons should not be allowed to vote. For example, if a persons crime is so COMPLEX that they are considered a felon, then they should not be allowed to contribute to society with their opinions. This shows that, their crime was so terrible that they could not even be put with the normal criminals, so why should they have a say in what goes about in the country? This also shows that, their judgement in what is right and what is wrong is quite questionable even after they complete their sentence. Their opinion is IRRELEVANT to this country. For example, if you can murder someone in cold blood and go to sleep with a smile on your face then you can live with the consequences. This shows that, some peoples decision are best left alone and the responsibility should be left to the sane people. SOURCES say that even after felons have done their time that still are not all their and can't function in society as they would like to. In conclusion, Felons should not be given the responsibility or opportunity to have a say in the way the country operates.

Ke'Ona, I find your statement that "responsibility should be left to the sane people" interesting. I just wonder about how this aligns with civil rights.
